Totes Had My 2nd Anniversary

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

It's time for a short story.

In May of 2007, I met this dude named Craig.

And when I met him, someone took a picture in which I looked truly bad. But I share it here, in a somewhat-improved and washed-out form, to show off my cute cute Craig.

In the following months, Craig and I became great friends through the wonders of online chat (there are no pictures of this significant phase, sadly, but there are entire binders-full of chat dialogue). He broke up with his girlfriend (a decision unrelated to me), and I broke up with my boyfriend (a decision unrelated to Craig).

Craig came to pay a visit on my 21st birthday.

What is he looking at? The world may never know. But anyhow, that night, we HELD HANDS.

And a week later, we KISSED LIPS. And we fell in love with each other.

We decided that we should totes get married.

He actually presented me with my lovely sapphire ring in a room full of balloons. It was static-y in there. This happened in May of 2008, a year after we first met.

We spent several months doing the long-distance-love thing, along with the get-mildly-stressed-planning-your-Christmastime-wedding thing. And after those days were over,

we totes got married.

And for the two years and nine days since December 27th, 2008, we have TOTES BEEN MARRIED. And it's been totes 100% great non-stop. Am I exaggerating? Totes, you bet. There have been tough moments aplenty. But overall, it's been wonderful to enjoy a marriage with someone who loves me, challenges me, makes Ramen for me, and tells me I'm adorable when I'm clearly not.

Happy two year and nine days anniversary to my husband and me, two lovebirds who are totes in love.

(PS - my husband really likes the word "totes," so this entire post should read like a tribute to him.)
